It was good to see the heads of our governments supporting the move toward more efficient border crossings for goods and people. Chambers of Commerce on both sides of the border, both locally and nationally have been looking for improvements in trusted shippers and travelers programs, preclearance, border staffing, simplification of customs practices and generally separating known low risk from unknown higher risk transactions. This week our governments committed to a review, which is good for all sizes of business on both sides of the border. More details on the reaction to the joint Chamber submission can be found on the Canadian Chamber of Commerce website.
