I am very proud of the work of our Workplace Development Committee, and the role the Guelph Chamber has played in addressing upskilling our workforce in Guelph. Linamar and Conestoga College sit on this committee, with others. One of the projects taken on this past year was to focus on how well Guelph business does in meeting the international standard of essential skills for the workplace.
Attached is a link to a video (second one down, produced by Conestoga's video arts program) www.masadamedia.com showcasing a successful project Conestoga College did with Linamar to focus on essential skills development in the workforce: Reading, Numeracy, and Document Use. This program is available to all employers through Conestoga thanks to groundbreaking work by Linamar's HR professionals and employees.
